If you control your electricity account — whether you own or rent — here's how to understand eligibility, review your current situation, and self-enroll in AutoSave.
Who this is for
AutoSave is for Ohio residential electricity customers who are authorized to make supply decisions for their account. That usually means the account holder — whether you own your home or rent. If you rent, confirm you're the named account holder on the electricity account before enrolling.
What stays the same
- Your utility still delivers power and restores outages.
- You still receive one bill from your utility.
- Your delivery charges, taxes, and fees are unaffected.
- You keep your existing account number and service.
What changes
Only the supply portion is managed through an authorization with Think Home Solutions, LLC. When it applies, Think Energy supplies your generation. Rates can change monthly and are not disclosed in advance.
Quick eligibility check
- You're the named account holder on an Ohio residential electricity account.
- Your utility offers customer choice (most Ohio residential accounts do).
- You're not on PIPP/PIPP Plus or an arrearage-crediting program (see below).
- AutoSave is offered for your account on the provider's enrollment site.
This is guidance, not an approval. Final eligibility depends on the provider's current enrollment process and your account details.
Before you enroll
Review your current situation
A few checks now can save trouble later. Don't cancel anything blindly.
Check your current rate
Look at your latest bill for your current supplier and supply rate. An existing rate could already be lower than AutoSave.
Find your contract end date
If you're with a competing supplier, note your contract end date and any early-termination fee before switching.
Check aggregation
Many Ohio communities have government aggregation. You may be enrolled automatically — check your bill or community notice.
Don't assume reimbursement
AutoSave does not necessarily reimburse your existing supplier's termination fee. Factor any ETF into your decision.
If you're in a PIPP/PIPP Plus or arrearage-crediting program, do not leave that assistance to enroll. Those programs have specific rules under the AutoSave agreement — confirm your situation with the provider before making changes.
